The President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Dr. Přemysl Sobotka, the second man in the state, visited the borough of Prague 4, the most densely populated borough of Prague. With its population of 140 000 inhabitants it is sometimes hyperbolically called the fifth most densely populated city in the Czech Republic - right after the capital of Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Plzeň.
The CITY TOWER building in Pankrác (formerly the Czech Radio) will hold another record. Besides the fact that it is the highest Czech building, it also bears the largest banner advertisement in the Czech Republic or maybe even in the central Europe.
The Plzeň Town Council approved the proposal that the Diplomat Hotel should be completed by ECM. The ECM group confirmed the outright purchase of the 2P company - the original owner of the construction torso.
Prague (4 November 2004) - The CITY EMPIRIA building got the second place in the prestigious competition Best of Real Estate 2004 in office building category. The building was awarded for developing the area, the quality of such a complex reconstruction undetook while the building is in operation and for marketing success. The CITY POINT project did very well too as it got the fourth place in office building category. In addition, this project was nominated for the Special Prize of the Jury. The company ECM proved again that it ranks among the leading developers in the Czech Republic.
The ECM group has lodged a tender to the Plzeň´s Council for a project to build an international four-star hotel.
Prague (1 October 2004) - The tender for completing the Diplomat building, which is still under construction, and transforming it into an international four-star hotel was submitted to the Plzeň´s Council by the ECM group - a Czech developer. As a result of the Marriott´s preliminary interest in this project, the international hotel chain has been approached as a prospective operator of the new hotel.
The third annual Iron Fireman Competition will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. to about 6:00 p.m.; this year's event is considered to be the most difficult. ECM is once again the event's main partner and for this reason, the CITY EMPIRIA building and its surroundings within Pankrac will be the site of the event. A rich accompanying program is also characteristic and will include a novelty this year - an open house at CITY EMPIRIA.
Prague (21 June 2004) - The first site at Pankrac, designed by internationally known architect Richard Meier, has been completed. The site inspection and approval of the first part of the CITY POINT building was completed in June. ECM Real Estate Development, which completed the project at Hvezdova Street in less than a year, cost approximately 15 million Euros. The reconstruction of CITY EMPIRIA, the former PZO Motokov building, is also nearly complete; the replacement of its façade will be finished at the end of June and the building's new representative lobby will be opened at the start of July.
On Wednesday 10 June, the congress centre in the Floret Hotel in Průhonice hosted a conference titled as "Increasing of Active Asset Profitability in Industry, Its Funding and Sale," which took place under the auspices of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. The conference was attended by fifty industry leaders who gathered to exchange their experiences and views. The five acclaimed Czech experts in the industry also gave a lecture to them.
This year, ECM will begin preparations for the development of a new hotel in the Prague-Ruzyne airport complex. This is a result of the consistent increase of passengers (in April 2004 this increase was more than 41 %) thereby increasing the demand for accommodation and congress capacity that is in close proximity to the airport terminal. The new hotel will significantly diversify and improve services, particularly for transfer passengers.
(Prague - May 19, 2004) - The fourth annual Prague Open tennis tournament kicked off on Saturday May 15th at the I. CLTK tennis club at Stvanice in Prague with the finals closing the event on Saturday May 22. One of ECM's goals was to give back to Prague the tennis fame, which it once enjoyed; ECM has been the main sponsor of the tournament since the first balls were hit in 2001. The event organizers raised the prize money this year from the original 25 000 Euros to 125 000 Euros resulting in obtaining a good reputation in the tennis world because of the combination of prize money and first-class international participation. The Prague Open is one of the most prestigious local tennis tournaments that can boast its significant international participation.
